The Project Specialist for the Fishing division understands the strategic needs of the business. The Project Specialist works cross:functionally to develop project plans, implement tools for tracking and reporting new product development, and leads process improvement initiatives.
The Project Specialist develops systems and processes to organize and track progress of multiple, concurrent initiatives and project. The Project Specialist helps select, design, create, and/or implement needed processes and systems, and then administrators these systems for the organization.
Will have excellent communication and customer service skills. This role must collaboratively work with internal and EBSCO Corporate resources as well as external vendors to successfully deliver solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
:Continuous tracking and reporting on New Product Development (NPD) projects across multiple brands and product categories, from conception through product introduction and launch
:Ongoing refinement of the timelines, processes, systems, and tools that are used in the Product Development process. Collaborate with managers across POB functions to identify opportunities for improvement in processes, collaboration, communication and effective teamwork.
:Schedule and facilitate meetings. Develop agendas, take notes, and circulate follow:up notes with attendees afterwards. Follow:up on action items.
:Weekly status reporting to management on all internal projects
:Function as the leader on Hunting Division projects by executing work plans, managing revisions to project scope, and allocating resources and time to ensure solutions meet requirements and are delivered on time.
:Actively manages the work effort of resources on project teams through the project plan by identifying resources needed and assigning individual responsibilities.
:Develops documentation to effectively manage projects and monitors and reports project status to stakeholders. Develops contingency plans as needed for projects.
:Tracks and assures project legal documents are completed on time as required by the project.
:Collaborates and communicates with other managers in POB to coordinate cross:functional activities and impact of work across the business.
:Schedules and leads collaborative conference calls, meetings, and other activities to monitor progress, expedite work, and ensure successful delivery of solutions.
:Identify and eliminate obstacles to solution plans, business objectives and projects.
:Manages project budgets and provides analysis on project spending and resource utilization to Finance and stakeholders.
:Performs review upon project completion to understand lessons learned and opportunities for improvement on future projects. Communicates findings to project team and provides individual feedback to team members to encourage growth and improvement.
