Vista College is currently hiring a Business Administration Program Director for our Fort Smith, AR Campus. The Program Director is responsible for curriculum development and evaluation, as well as clinical coordination of the designated program and compliance to all federal, state, or accrediting agency regulations. The Program Director must be able to relate well with the students, with other faculty members, and with the administration; the ability to keep calm during difficult circumstances, and the ability to maintain a professional attitude in the classroom. A strong attention to school policies and procedures is essential to this position. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and revise curriculum to ensure compliance with all federal, state or accrediting regulations. Oversee the development of appropriate lesson plans for each course offered in the designated field. Ensure that textbooks used in the program are in compliance with all regulatory bodies. Oversee the externship sites and ensure that students are completing all requirements in the externship experiences. The Program Director must oversee and/or accompany students who are in training at externship sites, as regulations require. Prepare and submit to the School Director evaluations of students in clinical training. Plan and coordinate student test days and remain at the externship site while students are completing exams there, if warranted. Maintain a written inventory of all equipment used in the programs. Submit supply requisition forms to the President as supplies are needed. Ensure that all equipment is in proper working order by submitting bimonthly equipment repair lists to the President. Participate in all areas of departmental responsibility such as proposing revisions of the program and exhibiting leadership in implementation; participating on committees in an effective, timely manner; working with other faculty to accomplish the goals of the school. Contribute to the governance of the school through active service on committees and through participation in meetings. Post and maintain officer hours per institutional guidelines. Participate in professional development seminars and activities to enhance professional development; accept the responsibility for professional awareness and growth. Accept such other responsibilities with respect to maintenance of records as required by the regulatory agency, school and/or administrative office. Perform all other duties as assigned or directed by the Chief Administrative Officer or School Director. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Program Director must possess, at a minimum, a baccalaureate degree, be certified or registered in the particular program, ie registered nurse, AAMA certified; currently licensed by the state of Utah, and demonstrate appropriate experience in the designated field of supervision. If the degree is not in the program field, the Program Director should: Demonstrate teaching skills, and; Have at least two years of related work experience or evidence of specialized training or competency in the teaching field.
